Mechanical Engineering: The Department of Mechanical Engineering came into its existence in August, 2006. The first batch was started with an intake of 40 students which can be enhanced to 60 students at the later stage. In addition to this 10% seats over and above intake are filled up from Diploma Engineers under Lateral Entry Scheme. The major advanced equipments have been purchased for the labs such :

 Kinematics of Machine Lab.
 Dynamics of Machines, Heat Transfer & Control Lab.
 Automobile Engg. And R.A.C. Lab.
 S.O.M. Lab.
 AutoCAD Lab.
 Material Science Lab.
 Fluid Mechanics Lab.
 Manufacturing Practice Lab.
 I.C. Engine Lab.

Presently this deptt. is sharing labs with the Govt. Polytechnic Sundernagar. Students are also visiting NIT, Hamirpur for making use of some advanced labs. The State Govt. has created various teaching posts of Professors, Asstt. Professors and Lecturers which will be filled up in phased manner.
