“Established in 2006, J.N Govt. Engg. College is located in Sundernagar Distt. Mandi (H.P).It’s campus is being developed at village Bhechhnadhar (Sundernagar) 1kms away from the N.H 21 on the top of a low height hill. This is about 28 kms from district H.Q Mandi towards Chandigarh.. Distance of charming city Sundernagar from this place is just 3 kms. Since the campus is being developed at the top of a hill, therefore, the view all around is very beautiful with brilliant scenic beauty The nearsest railway station Kiratpur is about 100 Kms and to reach there, journey of 4 hours can be enjoyed in the bus. The place has healthy climate with temperature ranging from 2 degree Celsius to 38 degree Celsius with an altitude of about 950 metres. The college is well recognized for its programmes in Engineering & Technology.It is only state Govt. Engineering College recognized by A.IC.T.E and affiliated to H.P university.

Presently, two disciplines are being run in this institution, namely:
1) 4-Year degree in Mechanical Engineering
2) 4 -Year degree in Textile Engineering;

Three more disciplines shall be added in phase manner.
1. Electrical or Civil engineering;
2. Electronics and Communication Engineering; and
3. Computer Science and Engineering.

At present, two courses viz - Mechanical Engineering and Textile engineering have been started with annual intake of 40 in each against sanction intake of 60 each. Present strength of students is 318. Our aim is to make this college a mile stone in the field of modern technology and to equip with latest machines/equipments/tools, so that the engineers passing from this college work in the industrial situations intelligently and contribute maximum in their respective fields in the future.
